Marcel Boucher designed jewelry for Mazer Bros. in the early 1930s. He established his own company, Marcel Boucher and Cie Company, in 1937. The company became a subsidiary of Dovorn Industries, a watch manufacterer, in 1972. Marcel Boucher died in 1965. Sandra Boucher, his wife, ran the company until 1972. Boucher jewelry is usually signed and carries an inventory number. Early marks are "Marboux" or "MB" in a cartouche. Later marks are "Marcel Boucher" and "Boucher". Marcel Boucher jewelry is "high-end" and can be tough to tell from the "real thing". Numbers on Boucher pieces are inventory/style numbers. Though the numbers are a clue to age, the style may have been designed, numbered, and yet not actually produced until much later. Additionally, some styles had more than one production run. Overall construction should also be taken into account when dating pieces.

Dating to 1953 this fabulous rhodium-plated set consists of a pin and matching earrings. The beauty of this set is that the pin's "wings" move and can be placed in different positions. To view, click on thumbnail. Pin: Signed BOUCHER, PAT 171077, and the number 436. (The "4" is worn and there may be a number that precedes it but there is no indication.) Earrings: one signed BOUCHER, the other numbered 5098.
These beauties are gold-wash over white metal (? silver, not marked). I would say early 1950's. Signed BOUCHER on one earring and numbered 3090 on the other. They are 1-1/2" long and 7/8" wide.
This beautiful rhodium-plated pin is set with round and baguette clears and has a faux opal center stone. Again I would say early 1950's. Signed BOUCHER and numbered 3316. It is 2-1/8" long and 1-3/4" wide.
This is my favorite bracelet. The rhinestones are not yellowed, it's a reflection from the scanner. In the larger view I have tried to show how it fits on the wrist. It is far more beautiful than my scan makes it look. It's dynamite. I would say early 1950's. Signed BOUCHER and numbered 3352. It is 7/8" wide.
This gorgeous gold-tone bracelet is made up of two different types of segments; one has 13 open-worked twisted ropes studded with gold-tone disks running horizontally, the other has 8 twisted ropes running vertically and emphasized by bands of solid gold-tone. It looks incredibly like real gold and is a stunner. I would say mid 1950's. Signed © BOUCHER and numbered 6751. It is 1-1/8" wide.
This silly little guy is just adorable. Great workmanship in the heavy granulation of the crab's body. He is lying atop a piece of genuine agate. Signed © BOUCHER and numbered 9005P, dating the piece to 1964/1965 when this type of casting was very popular.
This beautiful etched florentine gold-tone pin and earrings with faux turquoise and pave set round rhinestones. I would say mid to late 1950's. Signed © BOUCHER and numbered 7726P.
1950's BOUCHER Brooch & Clipback Earrings. Elegant Retro styling in this early 1950's set in a play of rhodium-plated silver-tone metal against gold-plated metal. The gold-plated metal is worked in an open design as well being the base for the channel set emerald green rhinestones on the brooch. The pavé clear rhinestones on the brooch are set in silver-tone. All but the open-work leaf of the earrings has silver-tone setting with pavé clear rhinestones on the curve of the leaf and emerald green rhinestones at the base. brooch: length: 3-1/4", width: 1-1/4"; earrings: length: 1-1/4", width: 7/8"
